空間設計｜日本屋久島-Between Two Times 時序之間

The site is defined by a rare coexistence of two temporal landscapes, where mountain and sea overlap, each carrying a different rhythm of time.

Within a day, the sea is in constant motion—tides shifting, light reflecting and dissolving—while the mountain remains largely still. Over the course of a year, this relationship reverses: the sea repeats its cycles, while the mountain transforms through seasons.

The architecture translates this temporal duality into lived space. Daily living areas open toward the sea, aligned with change and movement, while spaces for pause, retreat, and contemplation turn toward the mountain, shaped by slowness and continuity.
A continuous circular geometry mediates these conditions, allowing residents to move between immediacy and duration — between two times. The architecture resists instant legibility, unfolding gradually through movement, light, and spatial sequence. The spatial logic of the house is not immediately apparent at arrival, it is discovered progressively during the stay.

該遺址最獨特之處，在於兩種截然不同的時間景觀於此交會。山脈與海洋彼此交疊，各自承載著不同的時間節奏，也共同構成場域獨有的感知經驗。

一日之間，大海瞬息萬變，潮汐往復、光影流轉，始終處於動態之中；山巒則近乎靜止，沉默地維持著自身的秩序。一年之中，兩者的時間節奏卻悄然轉換：海洋循著潮汐與季節周而復始，而山脈則隨四時更迭，呈現緩慢而深刻的變化。

建築將這種時間性的二元關係轉化為居住體驗。日常起居空間朝向大海，回應其流動、變化與即時性；休憩、沉思與冥想的空間則面向山脈，承接其沉靜、延續與緩慢的時間感。連續的圓形幾何結構介於兩者之間，調和不同的自然條件與時間尺度，使居住者得以在即時與悠長、流動與靜止之間自由轉換。

建築並不追求一眼即可讀懂的空間秩序，而是透過行走、光線與空間序列逐層展開。家的脈絡並非在抵達的瞬間便完整呈現，而是在穿梭、停留與居住的過程中，隨著時間逐步被感知與發現。
